Episode 033

You can become the superhero in your own story

with Sierra Parr

The Comfort Via Discomfort podcast is 1-year old! To celebrate this milestone and to honor all the guests and supporters of this show, we’re counting down the top 10 episodes from our first year.

Here is #8 with Sierra Parr!

——

I like to describe Sierra as the queen of authenticity because she is who is she through and through, especially online. In a world full of highlight reels on social media, Sierra makes a huge effort to share moments of her real life and to "make the sour sweet" (tagline of her Lemon Soul brand 🤙🏼).

What does that mean? Yes, she still shares the highlight reels. But if she stays at home and eats a whole bag of chips instead of going to the gym like she planned, she shares that, too! Why!? Because she believes it's super important to show people online that it's okay to be human. And this is what I love about her so much.

Sierra is a weird and wonderful human being, and I'm sure you'll see that within a minute or two of this episode.

We talk about how Sierra felt like an outcast and suppressing her weirdness while she was growing up and how a move to Toronto changed everything and really helped her discover a big of who is she. We also discuss how producing films was an avenue to let her weirdness and creativity out, and how she's become her own fucking superhero (so empowering!).

Host of the Lemon Soul podcast and owner of the Lemon Soul Labyrinth, Sierra has truly stepped into her weird and wonderful self, and I know her story will inspire you to do the same ❤️
